Cancerfonden

UX/UI • Jan 2020 - Nov 2021

UX for the Swedish Cancer Society's website and native app with focus on e-commerce and CRO to motivate users to contribute to the fight against cancer.

About the project
My assignment as a UX/UI designer involved helping the Swedish Cancer Society in the development and further development of various donation forms for both the web and native app, as well as supporting donor communication to motivate users to contribute to the fight against cancer.
Amongst others I designed the gift shop, the memorial pages, and the online test "Check your risk" that helps users understand their lifestyle habits and how these affect their risk of getting cancer. I also further developed the personalized gift certificate, the memorial donation form, and gamified the general fundraising pages.
I also worked on developing various campaign modules for the annual Pink Ribbon campaign and the Cancer Gala. In collaboration with the app team, we introduced these new donor flows into the Cancer Foundation's native app and improved user interaction based on iOS and Android's platform-specific interaction patterns. In doing so, we expanded the app's functionality from being solely a tool for organizing step competitions, to becoming another channel that enabled users to contribute to the fight against cancer, and generate new leads that the Cancer Foundation could then follow up on.
The combined efforts on the web, app and the Cancer Foundation's other channels contributed to a 500% increase(!) in newly registered monthly donors during the Cancer Gala 2021.
My role
As a UX designer, I was responsible for the entire design process, from user interviews, to wireframes, user flows, mockups, workshops with the team, requirements documentation, and usability tests on digital interactive prototypes.
My focus has mostly been on concept development in close, agile collaboration with product owners, data analysts, editors, marketers and developers. I also held regular design presentations and reviews with the team, as well as business representatives.
In close collaboration with stakeholders and the development team, I developed various design concepts that we then evaluated using AB tests, which helped us to continuously optimize the campaign modules and thus increase giving.
As a UX designer, I supported the developers throughout the entire process - from the creation of the requirements, to handover and quality control when launching various features. As a scrum master, I facilitated all meetings from sprint planning, to refinements, retrons and sprint reviews.
I was also responsible for managing the Swedish Cancer Society's design system in Sketch, as well as developing new design components that followed the organization's design style.
