About the project

Inera is a digitalization company that, among other things, develops various types of certification services that will streamline the handling of certificates between healthcare, authorities and residents.

The Webcert web application makes it easy for doctors to issue various types of certificates. By sending the certificates digitally to, for example, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the processing time for sick leave and rehabilitation is reduced.

The resident service My Certificates ("Mina intyg") enables residents to read, download and print their medical certificates. It is also possible to send certificates to various recipients, such as the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. My Certificates can be accessed via the e-services at 1177.se

My assignment was to re-design both certificate services with the aim of improving usability.

My role

I was part of a large, agile and cross-functional team. As a UX designer, I was primarily responsible for the doctor service Webcert and the resident service Mina intyg (My certificates), but I also designed for Rehabstöd (rehab support) and Intygsstatistik (cerfiticate statistics).

I was responsible for the entire design process, from user interviews, to wireframes, flows, mockups, workshops with the team, requirements documentation and usability testing on digital interactive prototypes. I held design presentations to the team, reference and steering groups.

My focus areas were:

✓ Development based on user needs
✓ Implementation of a service-wide design system*
✓ Implementation of a visually clear framework
✓ Supporting implementation of a new graphic profile
✓ Simplified user flows
✓ Design according to WCAG 2.0 level AA

*Since we UX designers at the time were working in Axure (a prototyping tool), we built the design system in Jira Confluence where it was accessible to developers and stakeholders.
